Rumi’s Alchemical Journey

Rumi’s patterns symbolize her internal state. Jinu recognizes them as “patterns of shame.” Her patterns were barely visible as a child because she had not learned shame. Celine instilled shame by telling Rumi to “cover [the patterns].” So her patterns become increasingly prominent as she embraces Celine’s doctrine and hides her true self.

Rumi must now undergo a process of breaking down into her materia prima or prime matter. This is done when she loses her voice. As Rumi states “I tried to hide, but something broke. I tried to sing, couldn’t hit the notes.’ She is broken down into a base metal and forced to confront her shadow.

She experiences purification by acknowledging her heritage to Jinu. Rumi sings “I can tell you anything, all the secrets that keep me in chains.” Hiding aspects of herself contributed to her separation consciousness mentality - demons versus humans. She believed demons were all bad and needed to be destroyed whereas humans were good and needed to be protected. Rumi begins to transcend this polarity by openly sharing her truth with Jinu and identifying with him.

Rumi publicly endures her final transmutation at the Saja Boys concert. After her demon heritage was exposed, she acknowledges “[her] heart was divided” and offers “show me what’s underneath, I’ll find your harmony.”

Rumi acts as a catalyst for Mira and Zoey who rejoin her onstage. Huntrix transcend the reality of humans versus demons. When Jinu gifts Rumi his soul, she integrates it into part of her spiritual arsenal. Instead of merely killing demons, she transforms one - redeeming the fallen aspects of psyche through truth, resonance, and harmony. Consequently, her patterns shift from red to rainbow reflecting her own inner integration. Rumi becomes a living philosophers stone embodying truth and integration.
